Beech Charcoal
The Beech for this outstanding Stag charcoal is sourced from local woodlands in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire by Matt Edmonds, one of the UK's premier charcoal makers and font of all tree knowledge.
Beech, with leaves that stay on the branch well into Winter and often surrounded by a carpet of bluebells in the spring, is an iconic tree species in the British woodland. Rivalling Oak and Birch for density, Beech charcoal is a great all rounder but well suited to a longer slower burn.
Charcoal from Stag is always of the highest quality and British craftsmanship and is hand sorted so only the best mixed sized lumps are bagged.
Beech charcoal is perfect for your low and slows or if you are cooking for many and need your lumpwood to burn for that much longer. It is one of our favourite charcoals and you will be delighted with it for sure!
